Superwind 350-II wind generator
Kurz & concise
The Superwind 350-II is the first choice for demanding applications that require quiet, efficient and reliable power generation. Developed for the high demands of sailing yachts and other applications where reliable power production is crucial, Superwind generators have been setting the standard in this field for many years.
special features
Patented rotor blade adjustment
Similar to large wind turbines, the rotor blades of all Superwind generators are automatically adjusted above the rated wind speed and the aerodynamic loads are limited directly on the rotor. High forces on the structure are avoided, which significantly increases safety and reliability. At the same time, a Superwind still generates full power well above the rated wind speed: situations in which other wind turbines have already had to be switched off.
The adjustment mechanism is maintenance-free and fully protected in the hub. The purely mechanical mode of operation works reliably even in the event of external disturbances and keeps the wind generator in a safe operating condition independent of electronic components.
“Silent Power” rotor blades
Rotor blades optimized in the wind tunnel, which ensure that they are barely noticeable during operation due to structuring of the rotor blade surface (keyword: shark skin).
Damped yaw
The wind tracking via the wind vane is designed to reliably turn the wind generator into the wind as soon as there is enough wind to generate power. To ensure that the Superwind generators always stand still in the wind, even in turbulent locations, they are equipped with a damper. The damping of the wind tracking also prevents unwanted pendulum movements caused by waves on buoys or ships.
Integrated structure-borne sound decoupling
Due to the structure-borne sound decoupling integrated directly into the mast mount of the Superwind 350-II, there is no metallic contact between the wind generator and the mast. This means that the hum of the generator cannot be transmitted through the mast and no additional damping elements are required in the mast or at the mast base. This means a significant reduction in noise, especially on ships, and makes the Superwind 350-II practically undetectable below deck, even with aluminum and steel hulls.
Star Hub
Star Hub is the rotor hub design of our current wind generators. The patented rotor blade adjustment works fully automatically at high wind speeds, regulates the power above the nominal wind speed and limits the load on the generator. The new star synchronization of the rotor blades makes all Superwind systems more resistant to strong winds and turbulence compared to older technologies.
Coordinated overall concept
Because we develop our systems ourselves, all components are perfectly coordinated. The electric generator is precisely adapted to the aerodynamics of the rotor and delivers charging current even at low wind speeds. Designed as a brushless synchronous machine that is excited by neodymium magnets, the generator has excellent efficiency across the entire power range.
While conventional generators have to be switched off when the wind is too strong, the rotor blade adjustment and the generous dimensioning of the generator ensure that the Superwind generators can continuously deliver full power even at very high wind speeds.
With the Superwind 350-II you are perfectly equipped for the challenges on your sailing boat, whether blue water sailing or short trips.
