Circumnavigation / Phase 1 - Buying a boat

We plan to undertake our circumnavigation of the globe in a boat sized between 40 and 54 feet. We haven't yet decided on the hull material – whether aluminum, steel, or GRP (glass-reinforced plastic).

Whether or not to have a deck saloon is also still under discussion. What is certain, however, is that the boat should be a reliable and safe companion on our journey in the best possible condition. In addition, we would like to have enough space on board to take friends, family and supporters with us on individual stages.
